Berlin Islamic Center Organizes Competitions on Occasion of Imam Zaman Birthday

TEHRAN (IQNA) – As the 15th day of the lunar Hijri month of Shaaban approaches, the Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center in Berlin, Germany, has organized a series of contests for children, teenagers and youth.

It is held in three categories of painting, poetry reading and a letter to Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent), according to the center.

The deadline for sending works is March 5, it said, adding that winners will be awarded at a celebration planned at the center on March 7.

The 15th day of Sha’aban, or Nimeh Sha’aban, which marks the birthday of Imam Zaman (AS), falls on Wednesday, March 8, this year.

Every year, millions of Shia Muslims around the world hold festivities to honor the event.

According to Islamic teachings, Imam Zaman is the prophesied redeemer, who will revive peace, administer justice and rid the world of evil.

The Imam Ali (AS) Islamic Center of Berlin was established in 2003 with the aim of promoting Islamic teachings.

It also serves the Muslim community in Berlin and its nearby cities and towns by offering social and cultural programs.
